| | The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, of all ages, to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide. The Challenger program empowers individuals, regardless of their disability, to form life-long friendships with their teammates and the volunteer buddies. It's a “play for fun” league that enables these children to experience the joys of sport while participating in a team environment. Today more than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide. | |  |
| |  | | Great Valley Little League is honored to have sponsored a Challenger Division for over 30 years. This program benefits children with special needs throughout our community. Our Challenger team is a traveling team that plays other Challenger teams in the area from Boyertown to Kennett Square. |
| | Each year, the Annual Challenger Day Event brings teams from across Montgomery, Berks, Bucks, Chester, and Delaware counties together for a day of fun and baseball. Along with the games themselves, there are giveaways, t-shirts, activities for the kids, celebrity guests, and plenty of food and drinks. This year we will host over 27 teams with more than 350 players. In addition, we will recruit an equal number of volunteer baseball and softball players to "buddy-up" with the Challenger players. The camaraderie between both the players and the buddies, combined with the day’s festivities, make for an enjoyable and memorable experience for all participants. | |  |
