The Challenger Division, established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League, enabled boys and girls with physical and mental challenges the opportunity to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide.  The Challenger program empowers individuals, regardless of their disability, to form life-long friendships with their teammates and their volunteer buddies.  It is a “play for fun” league that enables these children to experience the joys of sport while participating in a team environment.

Great Valley Little League is honored to have sponsored a Challenger Division for over 25 years.  This program benefits children with special needs throughout our community.  Our Challenger team is a traveling team that plays other Challenger teams in the area from Boyertown to Kennett Square. Teams are comprised of players 5 years of age and older.  The Senior Division Challenger Division accommodates players age 15 and above (with no age limit).  Today, more than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide.
