T‐Ball (Playing Age 4, 5, & 6)
All Games at East Goshen Park
Our entry-level division where boys and girls play together. Players hit rubber balls off the tees or tossed gently by coaches underhanded or on one knee. No score is kept and only occasional practices held. There are usually two events per week (practice/game). The focus is on fun, fundamentals and snacks! Players are grouped by neighborhoods; schools and friend requests can usually be honored. The TBall division starts its games a bit later than the other divisions, approximately the beginning to mid April. When registering be specific with all requests, we make every attempt to honor friend and school requests. The earlier you register, the better the likelihood to accommodate those requests.
If your child is 6 years old, you have the option to play in either the T-Ball division or the Rookie division. If your child is 6 years old and is ready to play baseball at the machine pitch baseball level, select the Rookie Division option.
Rookie Baseball (Playing Age 6, 7, & 8)
Games are Mainly at Rookie Field - King Road Complex
Typically, our largest division where players either hit from a pitching machine or coach pitched. No score is kept and GVLL attempts to group players with classmates, neighbors and friends. Teaching fundamentals and fun remain a focus of this division.
If your child is 6 years old, you have the option to play in either the T-Ball division or the Rookie division. If your child is 6 years old and is ready to play baseball at the machine pitch baseball level, select the Rookie Division option.
If your child is 8 years old and not ready to play baseball at the live pitching level, select the Rookie Division option.
American League Baseball (Playing Age 8 & 9)
Games at EG Park, King Road and BOC
This is the first year of player pitch baseball and they begin using hardballs. Every player is encouraged to try pitching. We also begin keeping score, standings and crown a champion. To ensure balanced teams, we conduct a player evaluation and use a player draft approach so friend preferences and school requests are coincidental rather than programmed. A strong focus on fundamentals and sportsmanship begins to take root in this division. Team standings are kept, however there is no playoff tournament at the end of the season. This is the first division where inter-league All-Star play begins following the regular season. Prior to the season, players’ skills are evaluated which is used to draft balanced teams. Managers will evaluate at the end of the season to be used for the following years draft. Due to the draft format, teammate requests cannot be honored from this age forward.
If your child is 8 years old and is ready to play baseball at the live pitching level, select the American Division option. The American Division requires players to attend an evaluation night to allow the league to better balance the teams. Given the risks associated with living pitching, if there are limitations with your child’s ability to safely participate at this level, the Player Agent will contact you with their concerns.
National League (Playing Age 10 & 11)
Games at BOC and King Road Complex
Competition and skill variation become more evident in this division. This division is comprised of 10 and 11 YO players. Games are fun, teams are more competitive and standings are kept. The season features an end of year intra league tournament followed by inter league All Star play for the league’s best players. Teams are created via draft and a strong focus on fundamentals, team play and sportsmanship is stressed in this division.
Major League (Playing Age 11 & 12)
All Games at King Road Complex
Our most competitive division comprised of our 12 YO’s and a minority of our more gifted 11 YO players. Games are fun, competitive and it is not uncommon to see home runs hit in this division on any given night. Standings are kept and a champion is crowned following the end of season intra league tournament. We name several All-Star teams one of which is eligible to make it all the way to the Little League World Series if they can win their way there.
Junior League (Playing Age 13 & 14)
Home Games at King Road, Away Games throughout District 27
In this division, our teenagers “move up” to the so-called 60/90 “big” field. Games are longer, kids are more relaxed and so-called “BBCOR Bat” (2 5/8 inches) can be used and steal spikes can be worn. To avoid conflicts with school teams, our games are played on weekends only and practices are limited to one recurring (same) day each week. Games are played among other District 27 teams. Depending on the number of District 27 teams playing, players may be divided into Junior or Varsity players based upon skill level to ensure that they play with players of similar skill and have a good experience. The Junior Division names an All-Star team largely from its Varsity Division to enter into inter-league play following the end of the regular season.
Senior League (Playing Age 15 & 16)
Home Games at King Road, Away Games throughout District 27
This division is typically inhabited with players who love the game. Games are played only on weekends and large rosters are planned, knowing that conflicts with work, school and other teams/sports can get in the way. This division also sends a team into post-season play against other leagues in search of being the state champion of Pennsylvania.
